Adelyn's milestones!

Adelyn is growing up so fast, she's not a tiny baby anymore! She is so active and moves so much that it's always a struggle to change diapers because she wants to flip or sit up. She can stand on her own for 2 seconds!

She can now run in her walker and recently learned how to point! She says "neh neh" when she wants milk! So cute!

Caitlyn is getting married!

Today, Caitlyn put a blanket over her head and pretend it was a veil. She said "I'm getting married!"

"To who?" I asked, thinking daddy would faint!!!

"To cliff" she answered.

Who will kill me???

Caitlyn's been having running nose so we decided to let her stay at home today. When I asked her if she was better tonight, she said she was still sneezing and kept asking "Who will kill me?"!!! I was really shocked trying to think where she learned that and what she was trying to say and then i figured it out. She was trying to say "Who will cure me?" hahaha...

Friendly caitlyn again!

This morning when we were on our way to school on the bus, Caitlyn sat next to an Indian lady who had a bindi on. She asked what is it? (while pointing her forehead) and I was afraid she would say something rude, so I quickly say "it's a bindi! Isn't it pretty?". She agreed with me and told the lady her bindi was pretty and also said to "your earrings are pretty too!"

A few minutes later, the lady offered me her seat so I could sit with Caitlyn, but I told her I was ok standing. Caitlyn then said to her "Thank you for offering my mom your seat. That's very kind of you".

I felt so proud that she was being so polite :) and it was such a lovely way to start off the day today!

I love you Caitlyn! I promise I'll try to be more patient with you (when you are naughty!!!)

Friendly caitlyn

Caitlyn is such a funny little girl, she's so friendly and loves saying hello to people. A lot of helpers knows her by her name in our apartment complex. The other day, we went out for a walk and she saw a little boy and said hello to him. Here's our conversation:

Me: Do you know him?
C: No, I've never met him before.
Me: Oh, you're so friendly, thats so nice of you!
C: Thanks, mom!

Ya, she likes saying Mom and Dad instead of mommy & daddy -_-;

Happy 8 Months Adelyn!

Adelyn loves clapping her hands and she's so good at it!!!
When I say 拍拍手 (Clap your hands in Chinese) she understands and claps her hands!

Adelyn is 7 months old and can walk when holding onto something! I have a feeling she's gonna be walking soon! She's been babbling dada a lot which melts her daddy's heart!

Caitlyn is doing well and loves her sister a lot! The first thing she does when she gets back home from school is to see her little sister. Well, I prefer her to take her shoes and wash her hands first though! But still sweet :) She was a flower girl for daddy's friend's wedding at the end of December. It was so funny because the ring bearer ended up being my high school friend's kid! We were so surprised to see each other at the wedding! We also went to another wedding last weekend, and so when I told Caitlyn we were going to a wedding, she asked me "Who am I holding hand with?" assuming that she was the flower girl. I tell her that she was not the flower girl (well, they didn't have flower girls at their wedding, just page boys!) and she got soooo upset she told me she was so sad she wasn't the flower girl! I suppose given 3 opportunities to be a flower girl since September (and 5 in her life time) naturally became her duty at all weddings!

Kids say the funniest things

One day, we were looking at some of my childhood pictures and I asked Caitlyn if she recognized anyone in the picture. Well, the picture was of my parents and my sister and I about 24 years ago. She recognized my parents, then I told her the 2 kids were me and her aunty. Then she asks "Where am I?" I answer "You're not here yet!" then she asks "Why?".

Sometimes it's hard to answer her questions!

Happy 6 months birthday adelyn!

Dear adelyn,

Happy 6 months birthday to you my sweet baby! I can't believe how fast this 6 months went by. You're growing up so fast, I sometimes wished I could stop time to enjoy the little you that can be wrapped in my arms.

I've been very behind with blogging but I figured there must be a blogger app for my phone and ofcourse it exists! I'm blogging this on my phone as I type and I'm sure I'll be able to journal more about you and your sister's milestones more often from now on.

You are a super baby in my eyes! You started standing at 5 months! And one little teeth is starting to grow.

When I come home, you reach out your arms to me like you really recognize me and know who I am.

You're also very good at playing on your own. But not so much sleeping on your own. Daddy & mommy loves to spoil you and pick you up and cuddle with you in the middle of the night.

In blink of an eye, you will turn 1, then start going to school like your big sis, Caitlyn. Even though I'm so sleep deprived with broken sleeps each night, I know this is just a phase and that all is worth it.

On motherhood

There are days when I get SOOOOO frustrated with Caitlyn, but the truth is, I just have to remind myself that she is only 3 years old! Shouldn't expect too much, right?

A bit of a TMI but I had a plugged duct yesterday and it freaking hurts! Its a lot better today but I decided to stay home with Adelyn while Cliff took Caitlyn to Church this morning.

When they got home, Caitlyn said to me "I missed you at Sunday school today because I was thinking of you... I love you..."

Not only can she say so many words in a sentence, she really made my heart melt and I just had to quickly journal it down so that I can think about what she just said on days I need a lot of patience!

So proud

Caitlyn's been going to kindergarten happily even though she doesn't understand the language. Probably only a few words...
I'm sure she will have more fun once she picks up Cantonese. Really looking forward seeing her progress and hopefully become fluent!!
I see kids with separation anxiety and just feel lucky for CAITLYN'S independence. No melt down at all (touch wood)
